SHANE MARIO RUGGIERI

Shane figured, to thrive in a world where picking the wrong color could mean disaster (think roses, Day/NyQuil, lemon/limes) he best be fluent in the enigmatic language of color. He might say he’s still on the way, but most think he’s made it!

His experience spans Features, Commercials, Corporate and Entertainment genres and includes a project list with the likes of Apple iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, MacBook Air, Dolby, ARRI, Sony, LG, Panasonic, Chevron, Visa, Yahoo!, Mozilla, Fox Interactive and Universal Studios, California Music Awards, Avicci, Enrique Iglasias, Elle Goulding, Green Day, and Elton John.

He’s been interviewd for TV on CBS and for an upcoming episode of The Gadget Show in the UK. He has also been featured in blogs such as Dolby Lab Notes, Below the Line (voice of the crew), Videon, MKM Marketing CommunicationsN-Screen Media, and on websites like HipHop Press and Pro Video Coalition.

Not only creative, Shane now consults on high dynamic range workflow, tools, and technology with color scientists and engineers. He is on the short list of colorists skilled with Dolby Vision’s high dynamic range color grading; he was a contributor in several imaging tools and technology patents; his color work is being used by MPEG to examine new video standards and he was recently a contributor to paper presented to SMPTE: A Perceptual EOTF for Extended Dynamic Range Imagery.

Shane currently is a resident at Dolby Laboratories' Advanced Technology Group as a Production Engineer, Producer, Editor and Colorist (yes those are the titles on his business card) where he manages the Innovation Theater (one of the best executive demo theaters in the coutry), oversees 3 studios, presents technology demonstration (ATMOS, Dolby Vision, and Color Grading) at tradeshows, clients and VIP guests, and applies his multi-hat wardrobe to the pre-production, production and post-production needs of Dolby Marketing and Imaging departments. Oh, and he's the resident "golden-eye" and guinea-pig for Dolby's Applied Vision Science Group.

With his A-list clients, 14 credits (and counting) on IMDB.com and technical experience he has established himself as a Bay Area must-work-with.

When he’s not working, you can find him walking his cats, binge-watching bad TV (especially sci-fi and b-movies), reading with Chai tea in his cup, cycling long distances or up some stupidly steep mountain, and if he's missing, he may be breakdancing at Cardiff Lounge on Old School night amped and tipsy on Red-Bull Vodka.
